The Bavarians have the England international in their sights, according to the Norwegian journalist.
Raheem Sterling’s future at Liverpool is looking increasingly unclear, with The Guardian reporting this week that the England international has his heart set on a move away from Anfield and will tell his employers as much.
Although a host of English clubs are regularly reported to be keeping an eye on the situation on Merseyside, a host of foreign sides would surely also be interested in the 20-year-old’s signature.
Since retiring from the game, the former Swindon Town striker has built up a steady following and reputation reporting on German football and is widely accredited as being one of the men to break Mesut Ozil’s transfer from Real Madrid to Arsenal.
Been checking a bit around. Sterling IS on Bayern's "candidates- list". Remember! Ribery and Robben not young anymore...— Jan Aage Fjortoft (@JanAageFjortoft) May 20, 2015
As can be seen above, Fjortoft has stated that Pep Guardiola’s men are interested in Sterling as a potential replacement for Arjen Robben and/or Franck Ribery.
Fjortoft had initially stated that he was doubtful whether Bayern would be interested in the Liverpool man but has seemingly had a u-turn after checking with his sources.
Liverpool face a similar situation to the one they encountered with Luis Suarez in 2013 and have a tumultuous summer ahead in the battle to keep the young star.
