Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has taken to Twitter to send a special message after being crowned the club’s under-21 Player of the Year.
The 19-year-old is currently away with Brazil’s under-20 side as they prepare for this summer’s World Cup, but he was clearly happy to have been acknowledged, and it caps a fine few weeks for a player who recently signed a new deal at Old Trafford.
Pereira has featured 18 times for United’s under-21 side this season, scoring three goals and providing four assists in that time.
His innate talent is clear for all to see every time he steps onto the field and it will be interesting to see how much he features for Louis van Gaal’s first-team next season having recently agreed to stay until at least 2018.
Following the news of his award, Pereira wrote, “I want to thank first of all the fans who voted for me and all the coaches, players and the staff who helped me.”
Periera has a busy few weeks ahead of him, and then he will be hoping to impress on United’s pre-season tour, during which a number of new faces are likely to be present.
