Watford midfielder Luke O’Nien has taken to social networking site Twitter to claim that his teammate and reportedly Celtic target Ikechi Anya is worth at least £20 million.
According to The Mirror, Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are interested in signing Anya in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that the Bhoys will make a bid of £4 million and are confident of attracting him due to their potential presence in the Champions League next season.
O’Nien, though, seems to be believe that Celtic will need to offer at least £20m to sign his teammate.
Anya seems flattered with O’Nien’s valuation of him and made the following reply on Twitter:
hahahah @LukeONien if I'm worth 20 mill you are worth 100 million my friend !!!!!! never lose your enthusiasm it is infectious— Ikechi (@IkechiAnya) May 19, 2015
Anya is one of the best players in the current Watford squad and was a key reason behind their success in the Championship this season.
The former Northampton Town man created 35 chances in as many league appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 50%.
Watford finished second in the Championship and earned automatic promotion to the Premier League for the 2015-16 campaign.
