Manchester City defender Kolarov names his all-time dream team

Players - Chelsea v Man City

The full-back has selected his dream team, with one surprising exclusion.

Manchester City defender Aleksandar Kolarov has been busy naming his all-time XI to the club’s official website.

However, it seems there is no place for any of his current City teammates - although, judging by the line-up, that is not all that surprising.

The full-back has chosen Bayern Munich keeper Manuel Neuer as his number one, while his defence isn’t too bad either.

At right-back is Philipp Lahm, while the rest of the back line is made up of Italians, featuring World Cup winners Alessandro Nesta and Fabio Cannavaro and AC Milan stalwart Paolo Maldini.

In midfield is yet another Italian, this time the pass master Andrea Pirlo, who is joined by an enviable array of attacking talent in Brazilian Rivaldo and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane.

Up front, Lionel Messi starts on the left of a three, with Brazil’s legendary goalscorer Ronaldo in the middle. On the right comes the biggest surprise, with the mercurial Zlatan Ibrahimovic chosen ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

A heavily attack-minded team from Kolarov, then, with that surprising omission up front. Although, with a defence as capable as that, his team are likely to be impressive at both ends of the pitch.
