Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Ezequiel Lavezzi from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.
It has been reported by the Italian website that contacts have been made, and that there is a possibility that a deal could be struck in the coming days.
The Argentina international winger has been on the books of PSG since 2012, and it seems that the French giants are open to selling him.
Lavezzi has scored eight goals and created 28 chances in 30 Ligue 1 appearances this season, while having a pass accuracy of 86% and a shot accuracy of 70%.
The former Napoli star’s current contract with PSG runs out in June 2016, which means that Tottenham will probably not have to pay a huge transfer fee this summer.
Interestingly, the 30-year-old Lavezzi is also a target of Liverpool, according to The Express.
While Lavezzi is a very good footballer who has tricks and flicks, he is past his prime and is no longer the player he was at Napoli.
Moreover, in January, the former San Lorenzo attacker was quoted as saying in The Daily Mail that he has already thought about retiring from the game.
“Sometimes I think about giving it all up,” said Lavezzi. “It’s a thought running through my head today, not just in the past. Once I leave football, I will not continue in the world of sport. Right now I don't know what I might do.”
