Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke wants to move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.
The British tabloid claims that the Belgium international is “ready to force a move” to the Merseyside outfit which could see his current wage double from £50,000-a-week to £100,000-a-week.
It has also been reported that Liverpool would have to pay £30 million for the services of the 24-year-old.
Benteke is rated as one of the best strikers in the Premier League and has been in superb form in recent weeks.
Under manager Tim Sherwood, the former Genk star has rediscovered his old touch, and his goals have been key in keeping the Villans safe from relegation to the Championship.
In 28 Premier League appearances this season, Benteke has scored 13 goals and created 32 chances, while having a pass accuracy of 66% and a shot accuracy of 45%.
Signing Benteke would be a good move for Liverpool, although given the striker’s problems with injuries in recent months, perhaps paying £30m for him would not be wise.
