HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Stoke City's James Ness is attracting interest from a number of teams in England and Scotland after impressing on loan at Crewe Alexandra.
Ness has one year left on his deal at the Britannia Stadium after joining the club in the summer of 2012 following his departure from Rangers.
Ness began his career at Rangers and scored two goals in 18 appearances before leaving when the club went into liquidation.
The Scotland Under-21 international has struggled to establish himself at Stoke, making just one substitute appearance in a League Cup clash against Swindon in his debut season at the club.
Ness had a spell out on loan at Leyton Orient last season helping them reach the League One play-off final and he has caught the eye at Crewe this term, making 35 appearances and playing a key role in their successful fight to stay in League One.
