Petr Cech's agent confirms that he would be happy to join Arsenal

A current Chelsea player could be on his way to Arsenal following the latest comments from his agent.

The agent of Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has confirmed – in comments published by the Daily Star – that the 32-year-old would be keen on a move to Arsenal if he left Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Blues stopper has hardly featured for Jose Mourinho’s side since Thibaut Courtois returned from his loan spell in La Liga, and after playing just six Premier League games this season it would be no surprise if he moved on in the summer.

And now Viktor Kolar has been quoted as saying, “Arsenal, (Manchester) United or Paris Saint Germain are all top clubs. And Petr would like to join one of them, definitely.”

Kolar went on to explain that it is likely to be Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich rather than Jose Mourinho who ultimately decides where Cech’s future lies following an alleged mutual agreement between the two last year.

There is no doubt Arsenal would benefit from Cech’s presence at the Emirates Stadium, despite the fact that Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina are currently on their books.

If the Gunners want to reach the next level both domestically and in Europe, they need world-class players in all positions and Cech is certainly that.

With years still ahead of him at the top of his game, Arsenal would be wise to make a move now they know the player is keen, but would Chelsea really sell to a domestic rival?

That question could be answered in the coming weeks.
