Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has taken to social networking site Twitter to thank the fans for their support this season.
Shaw, who joined United from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer of 2014, made the following post on Twitter:
The 19-year-old left-back enjoyed a breakthrough season at Southampton in 2013-14 and earned the big move to United last summer.
Much was expected of the highly-rated teenager this term, but he has endured a frustrating 2014-15 campaign.
Shaw has struggled with injuries and has also not play as well as he should have when fit.
In 16 Premier League appearances this season, Shaw has created 14 chances, and has a pass accuracy of 86% and a pass accuracy of 33%.
The England international has won 25 headers, 11 dribbles and 19 tackles in those 16 league games.
United are currently fourth in the Premier League table with 69 points from 37 matches, two points behind Arsenal, who have a game in hand.
Louis van Gaal’s side can still finish third, but it now looks highly unlikely. The Red Devils’ final game of the season is against Hull City away from home at the KC Stadium on Sunday.
