Speaking to the official Rangers website, Black admitted that scoring three goals against Hibs would be the perfect way to repay the fans who have supported the club so well this season.
The assistant manager said: “I thought the fans were terrific on Sunday and the players appreciated that, we knew there was going to be a big crowds but when they do get behind you there are positive vibes from the players.
“We want more of the same on Wednesday night and it would be good to give them one, two or possibly even three goals to celebrate.”
A humongous crowd traveled to Ibrox at the weekend to see Rangers secure a 1-1 draw with Queen of the South, that was enough to see the Light Blues through to the semi-final tie with Hibs.
That game is on Wednesday, and although they have had little time to rest and recuperate before the tie, Black believes the home crowd and atmosphere could be enough to see them take the advantage against Hibs.
Admittedly, Black’s wish to see three goals scored for the fans may be slightly over the top, as Hibs have an incredibly strong team, but with the Light Blues flying high right now, there is no denying that Stuart McCall’s side have a great chance of progressing to the play-off final.
The Ibrox crowd could prove vital in pushing the players over the line against Hibs on Wednesday, and if they do secure a victory over their Championship rivals in the first leg of the play-off tie, it is hard to see how the Scottish giants will not be favourites to secure a return to the top flight at the end of this campaign.
