A fan favourite in the Scottish international set-up, Anya has certainly shown to have great talent in the Championship, although doubts remain about his ability to step up to the Premier League.
He occasionally struggled this term, and the 27-year-old appeared to be suffering with confidence issues, but as the season drew to a close, Anya played a key role in the Hornets' promotion to the top flight.
Playing as both a wing-back and as a natural winger, Anya seemed to rediscover the form that made him so loved at Vicarage Road immediately following his move from Granada, and no one would deny that he deserves a chance to impress in the Premier League.
However, a £4 million bid from Celtic would almost definitely be accepted by Watford’s management team, with the Pozzo family - owners of the club - keen on selling players when they reach their maximum value.
Truthfully, it is hard to believe that Anya is worth £4 million, and so if approached with that offer the Pozzo’s would face no competition should they accept.
The financial gain of selling Anya would play heavily into Watford’s hands as they strengthen ahead of the Premier League season, and Anya is not a consistent selection in Slavisa Jokanovic’s plans - as he favours a 4-4-2 diamond system in which Anya has no natural position.
There are no guarantees that Anya would make the grade at Celtic, but clearly Ronny Deila is a fan of the winger, and if he truly wants to sign him, a £4 million offer would be far too good for Watford to turn down.
