Former defender Lucas Radebe reaffirms his allegiance to Leeds United

A former Leeds United player has taken to social media to explain that the Whites were the only English club for him.

Former Leeds United defender Lucas Radebe has taken to social media to reassert that he never had any intention of swapping Elland Road for Old Trafford during his playing career.

The South African centre-back recently explained that he had turned down a move to Manchester United, and on Tuesday he posted the following message on Twitter after appearing on the Dan Nicholl Show.

“Great time at Dan Nicholl Show,” the Leeds fan favourite wrote. “Asked about not going to Manchester United. Never the Red Rose only the White Rose for me.”

Leeds’ official Twitter account was quick to retweet Radebe’s message and it is clear that the club still means so much to him, despite him leaving Elland Road 10 years ago.

During his time at Leeds he played 201 times, proving to be an absolute bargain having been signed from Kaizer Chiefs back in 1994.

How Leeds could do with a player like Radebe in their side now, although recent loan signing Sol Bamba has impressed in the club’s back-line and they will surely be hopeful of tying the Ivorian to a permanent contract if at all possible.
