Raheem Sterling will reportedly tell Liverpool that he wants to leave in the summer transfer window.

Dietmar Hamann has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to a report that Raheem Sterling will leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

According to BBC Sport, England international winger Sterling will tell the Reds bosses in a meeting on Friday that he will not sign a new contract.

It has been reported that Sterling will inform Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and chief executive Ian Ayre that he wants to leave Anfield in the summer.

Former Liverpool midfielder Hamann is not happy with the report and has hit out at the 20-year-old on Twitter.

Sterling is one of the best players in the current Liverpool squad, and losing him in the summer will be a big blow.

In 35 Premier League appearances this campaign, the Englishman has scored seven goals and created 75 chances, while having a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 53%.

Last season Sterling scored nine goals and created 51 chances in 33 league matches, while having a pass accuracy of 82% and a shot accuracy of 67%.
