Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha struggled during his time at Manchester United.
Pardew brought Zaha back to Selhurst Park to end his Old Trafford misery and the 53-year-old boss feels that he returned a different player.
Although Pardew had no questions over his attitude, he did say that he had taken upon a more negative outlook when he moved back from United.
"His attitude has been spot on," Pardew said. "His personality has changed a little because to go to a big club as a young man and not get much of a chance, he got a little bit down and a little bit negative about his game.
"We have managed to get that out of him. You see now he is smiling and bubbly and that is when Zaha is at his best."
Zaha certainly does seem to be thriving at Palace and he will be glad to be back at a club that trusts him so much.
The 22-year-old trickster is allowed plenty of creative freedom at Selhurst Park and that is the exact opposite of what he was given at United.
The Red Devils seemed to limit Zaha's chance to express himself and it clearly dented his confidence.
When he was on the pitch he appeared to have lost the spark that makes him such a special player, but now he is getting it back he is reminding people of the quality that he possesses.
