HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Brighton and Hove Albion striker Shamir Fenelon is to leave this summer.

Fenelon's current deal expires next month and Brighton have informed the 20-year-old he will not be offered fresh terms at the Amex Stadium.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international came through the ranks at Brighton and was very highly-regarded within the corridors of power at the club when he was coming through the youth system.

After enjoying a spell on loan at Torquay in the 2013-14 season, Fenelon made his debut for Brighton at the start of this season, figuring in the first three games of the campaign before joining Rochdale on loan.

Fenelon had two further spells out on loan at Tranmere and Dagenham this season, making 17 appearances and scoring two goals.

News of Fenelon's availability on a free transfer without compensation has alerted a number of clubs in the Championship and League One who are all ready to offer the forward the opportunity to continue his career elsewhere.
