Birmingham City defender Amari'i Bell set for Fleetwood move

Birmingham City FC - St. Andrews

HITC Sport understands that Birmingham City defender Amari'i Bell is set to join Fleetwood Town on a free transfer.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Birmingham City defender Amari'i Bell is poised to join Fleetwood Town.

Birmingham announced earlier this week that Bell will leave St Andrew's this summer when his contract expires.

The 21-year-old had an option on his current deal for Birmingham to extend it by a further year, but the club have decided against doing so.

Bell made just one senior appearance for Birmingham after joining from Solihull Moors in 2011

The left-back had three spells out on loan this season at Mansfield, Swindon and Gillingham making 18 appearances in total.

Bell is believed to have caught the eye of Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander during his loan spells in League One this season and he is ready to bring the player to Highbury for next season.

Alexander has already been busy in the transfer market agreeing a deal to sign highly-rated Aberdeen forward Declan McManus when his contract expires this summer.
