E3 is probably the biggest event in the gaming calendar each year and this year is already receiving a huge amount of press, enhanced greatly by the announcement that renowned game studio Bethesda would be hosting their own conference at the event.
Bethesda are best known for their smash hit games Fallout 3, Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein and the original shoot em up Doom. With less than a month to go until the event Bethesda have chosen to release a short teaser trailer for a game to be announced at E3, many fans are drooling with excitement of this conference and the prospect of a Fallout 4 announcement. Those fans were left angry and confused however as the teaser trailer is for a new Doom game.
For those wondering what all the fuss is about let us fill you in. Fallout fans have been going out of their minds with Bethesda over the last few years, having waited since Obsidian studios 2010 release Fallout New Vegas for a new game. Since then the internet has been flooded with rumours and hoaxes hinting to Fallout 4 and the reasons for the seemingly endless wait.
With this in mind the teaser trailer seems like an odd choice, why book out an entire day at E3 for Doom? Ok so Doom has its place in history and a new game would be great but in all seriousness we just want Fallout 4 now.
The teaser trailer doesn't give much away and is too short to make much of a comment on but it does show a creature that looks similar to Fallout's Ghouls with machine guns growing from its back, which is pretty cool.
You can see the teaser below.
Let's not lose faith however as maybe, just maybe, Bethesda have more up their sleeve and this is just the beginning. Perhaps they are trying to throw us off the scent, making the final Fallout 4 reveal all that more spectacular.
Lets hope so as the E3 organisers may need to cancel the rest of the event after the inevitable riot that would ensue if it doesn't get an official release date.
Bethesda's E3 conference is taking place on Sunday 14th June 2015
