The former goalkeeper has formed a fantasy team of players he played with, and there were some tough calls to make.
His team, though, only features players he played with, meaning there are some tough decisions for the former England man to make, especially when deciding who to leave out.
Going with a 4-3-3 formation, he doesn’t name himself but goes with John Lukic as the number one.
At right-back is Lee Dixon, who he describes as “a great full-back”. Joining him in defence are Tony Adams and Steve Bould, with Adams as captain, meaning there is no place in the side for Martin Keown.
Completing the side at left-back is Nigel Winterburn, to complete an impressive back four.
In the middle of the park, Patrick Vieira is alongside Emmanuel Petit, with Seaman describing the duo as “brilliant” when together, with fellow Frenchman Robert Pires completing the midfield trio.
Up top are the usual suspects, with club record goalscorer Thierry Henry starting as the right forward and Ian Wright, the man the Frenchman surpassed in the record books, starting on the left. In the middle is mercurial Dutchman Denis Bergkamp to provide that added spark.
So there you have it, David Seaman’s ultimate Arsenal XI. Not bad, and with a front three full of goals, one you suspect would have won everything on offer given the chance.
