Robin van Persie remains a deeply unpopular figure among Arsenal fans after he walked out on the club three years ago.
When he took on the Gunners last season he scored the winning goal at Old Trafford and celebrated like he had just scored against any other club; there was no holding back.
The Dutchman was on the bench against his old club, and before the game was captured by the Sky cameras hugging and joking with opposition midfielder Tomas Rosicky.
It was a far cry from the Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira row at Highbury in 2005, and told a story of the lack of intensity between the clubs, with the league title long gone, won by Chelsea earlier this month.
The futures of Van Persie and Rosicky are also far from clear, with the Czech midfielder a contender to be released at the end of June, while Manchester United could sell the striker who has just one year remaining on his contract.
Van Persie left Arsenal to win trophies, and won one Premier League title, but to Arsenal fans he sold them out, at a point when he was in his prime, a golden boot winner and Footballer of the Year.
His departure set the club back, and there is little to no chance of them looking to re-sign him.
Van Persie did manage to make it onto the pitch in the second half, but fluffed his big chance by blazing over in the final few minutes with the scores level.
His embrace with Rosicky caused a ripple of reaction from Arsenal fans on Twitter, who still cannot forgive the Manchester United forward.
