Celtic manager Ronny Deila has been quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times with a short and sharp message with regards to striker Leigh Griffiths.
The paper claims that the forward has been linked with a £1 million move to Leeds United, as the Elland Road club look to bolster their squad before pushing for promotion into the Premier League next season.
However, Deila has given an early indication that any attempts on the part of the Yorkshire club to move for his player will ultimately turn out to be fruitless.
“We want all our players here. That is so important to us,” said Deila under a line in the paper’s report where Leeds are referenced.
It’s no surprise that the Norwegian is keen to protect and hang onto his player because he’s been vital to the club’s attack this season.
Griffiths has been consistent and has played a key role in the successful League Cup and Scottish Premiership campaigns.
Leeds is a tempting proposition because of the club’s size, stature, support base and history, but Griffiths hasn’t expressed any wish to leave.
He’ll most likely be aiming for the other side of 20 goals next season, repeating the sort of form he’s produced for the Bhoys this season and the club’s fans should be confident they will keep their man.
