Manchester City put in a fine performance to overcome Swansea City 4-2 on Sunday, with James Milner proving yet again what a fine player he is.
The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer and will seemingly be moving on to pastures new, but as he showed at the weekend, he still has much to offer at the highest level of English football.
Yaya Toure may have stolen the show with a brace but Milner also got on the score-sheet with a great effort, and there are likely to be plenty of clubs keen on bringing him in this summer.
Milner has featured 44 times for City this season, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in that time.
Given his talent, age and experience, it will be interesting to see what the next chapter of his career will be.
After his latest appearance we took to Twitter to see what City fans thought of Milner’s contribution and you can read a selection of what we found below:
James Milner was MOTM brilliant performance— Ste (@Downing_91) May 17, 2015
Also Milner scored a great goal the technique was brilliant. In my opinion City shouldn't sell him and keep him at the club.— Robbie Ford (@RobbieFord96) May 17, 2015
Don't understand why Manchester City don't want James Milner anymore! He's brilliant! Works hard, great passer, can finish! Full package.— Blake Bedford (@BlakeeBedfordd) May 17, 2015
He plays alongside some world-class players that often get the limelight over him but I think James Milner has had a great season.— Shaun Gray (@ShaunWGray) May 17, 2015
Great result yesterday but surely we need to keep hold of Jimmy Milner— David Gaskill (@GASSY68) May 18, 2015
Good goal by Milner. Aguero did well. Good run, turn and finish by Milner. I have always rated Milner - underrated by many.— Andrew Yee (@andrewyee) May 17, 2015
Impossible to make any point about Milner on twitter because of the need to put "but good luck to him he's been a great servant" at the end— Grth. (@burnagedaydream) May 18, 2015
Pearce asks why MCFC letting Milner go so easily? They want the Champions League. Have a look at Barca. There is no Milner in their club!— Lee Knibbs59 (@LeeKnibbs) May 18, 2015
