Investment banker wives said to be given performance-related bonuses

Skyscrapers - Wall Street

Wives living in New York's prestigious Upper East Side are given performance-related bonuses at the end of each year by their investment banker husbands, it has been claimed.

The Daily Mail reports that the payout will partly be measured by how well the husband has done at work, but also by how well his wife has done at home, according to sociologist Wednesday Martin.

Ms Martin claims that extra cash will be awarded if their homes have been particularly well run, or if the children have achieved good grades in school.

And, according to her research, the amount often stretches into the tens of thousands of dollars.
