Ian Wright: If Manchester United come for Hugo Lloris, it could turn Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper’s head

Hugo Lloris

Arsenal great Ian Wright says that Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will not be able to resist the temptation to join Manchester United.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has told BT Sport that Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will not be able to resist the temptation of joining Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

France international goalkeeper Lloris is on the radar of Premier League giants United, according to Sky Sports.

The Red Devils will delve into the transfer market should David de Gea leave for Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.

Former Arsenal striker Wright believes that if United come calling, then Lloris will leave White Hart Lane for Old Trafford.

“Maybe they can take Lloris away because Lloris would want to play Champions League football,” the 51-year-old said on the Matchday Live with Fletch & Sav show on BT Sport on Saturday.

“You can’t really turn down Man United, just like De Gea can’t turn down Real Madrid. If Man United come in for Lloris, they are going to turn his head.”

Over the years, Tottenham have sold their best players to bigger clubs, both in England and in Europe.

While Spurs fans will want Lloris to stay, if United do make an offer, then it will be tough for the North London outfit to keep hold of the Frenchman.

The 28-year-old is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and arguably the only world-class player in the current Tottenham squad.

United can not only provide Lloris with Champions League football, but they are also a much bigger club than Tottenham - one of the biggest in the world in fact.
