Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom has told the club's official website that Alexis Sanchez has nicknamed him after Thierry Henry.
Akpom, 19, joined Arsenal all the way back in 2002, and has gradually been making his way up through the ranks in the red half of North London.
This season, Akpom has played seven games for the Gunners, but has also been out on loan at Nottingham Forest in the Championship, making seven appearances for Dougie Freedman's men - though he failed to find the back of the net during that loan spell.
With Forest's Championship season now over, teenager Akpom is back at Arsenal and will be hoping to play a part for the Gunners before the end of their campaign.
Still touted as one for the future despite his barren run with Forest, Akpom has now revealed to the Arsenal official website that Gunners team-mate Alexis Sanchez has started to nickname him 'Titi' - after club legend Thierry Henry.
"Alexis Sanchez calls me Titi," said Akpom. "Thierry Henry is my idol so for someone like Alexis to call me Titi is a bit... wow – I’ll take that! Henry was the striker when I was growing up, and I used to wear number 14 just because of him. I was in the Arsenal academy, seeing him do all these great things for the club and I thought, ‘I want to be like him’," he added.
Henry smashed 226 goals in 369 games for Arsenal, becoming a club legend before leaving for Barcelona in 2007 - and he even has a statue outside the Emirates Stadium.
It seems almost incomprehensible that Akpom could even get close to Henry's goalscoring record for Arsenal, but maybe Sanchez has seen something that others haven't during training sessions with the young Gunners forward.
