Tottenham players react on Twitter after beating Hull City 2-0 this weekend

Tottenham won their final home game of the season, beating Hull 2-0 on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur managed to win their final home game of the season on Saturday, beating relegation-threatened Hull City 2-0 at White Hart Lane.

After a poor first half showing, Tottenham improved in the second half, and goals from Nacer Chadli and Danny Rose handed Spurs all three points.

With just one game left to play, Mauricio Pochettino is closing in on sixth place and a subsequent Europa League spot, with only Everton to come next weekend.

Given Southampton's 6-1 win over Aston Villa, Tottenham had to beat Hull - and did so with a 2-0 victory, with some of the Spurs players taking to Twitter after the game to reflect.

Midfielder Ryan Mason set up Rose's goal in the second half, but chose to react to Steven Gerrard's final appearance for Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, having played against the legendary Reds skipper earlier this season.

Meanwhile, winger Chadli commented having scored his 13th goal of the season in all competitions, whilst Erik Lamela - the man credited with a superb assist for that goal - noted how important the win was.

Finally, striker Harry Kane thanked the Tottenham fans for their support this season after what he described as a 'solid win' over Hull City.
