A Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has praised a teammate and explained what he needs to do to improve his own game.
The Spurs left-back scored his side’s second goal in their 2-0 victory against Hull City on Saturday, after a fine pass from Mason, and the latter has been effusive in his praise for the former Sunderland loanee.
“Danny’s been fantastic this season and the way he finished it off was brilliant,” Mason said.
“I’ve been looking to improve my record of goals and assists and hopefully next season that can continue.”
Mason’s assist on Saturday was his fourth of the season while he also has three goals to date in this campaign.
Given Mason is now a regular starter for Tottenham, he really should have a better return than that, but on the plus side the 23-year-old put in a far better performance this weekend after a string of below-par showings.
As for Rose, a player Mason dubbed as “fantastic”, the left-back has answered his critics in emphatic style in recent months, delivering week in, week out and proving he is now undeniably Tottenham’s first-choice left-back; which is good news for the fans but less so for summer signing Ben Davies.
