Southampton hammered Aston Villa 6-1 at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Southampton duo Shane Long and Nathaniel Clyne have taken to social networking site Twitter to revel in the win against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints returned to winning ways in the Premier League in style, hammering Villa 6-1 at St. Mary’s Stadium.

It was Southampton’s final home game of the season and kept them in the running for a Europa League finish.

After the game, Long and Clyne made the following posts on Twitter:

Victory over Villa means that Southampton are now seventh in the Premier League table with 60 points from 37 matches, just two points behind Liverpool, who are fifth in the standings at the moment.

Ronald Koeman’s were in with a chance of a top-four finish just a few weeks ago, but even if they do not end up in the top six, their season will still be a success.

Southampton’s final game of the 2014-15 campaign is against last season’s Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next Sunday.
