Photo: Neil Redfearn in his Leeds kit as a boy - Proof he loves club more than Cellino?
The future of Neil Redfearn at Leeds United looks bleak after another outburst from the controversial owner Massimo Cellino today.
He spoke to The Mirror to launch a bitter tirade at the manager, who is universally popular at Elland Road.
He even claimed that Redfearn, from Dewsbury, just south of Leeds, did not love Leeds as much as him.
"He tried to play the fans against me to keep his place.
“Do you think that Neil Redfearn loves Leeds more than me?
“Tell me why I am in Leeds, why am I so involved with the club? Why am I putting in a lot of money, killing myself? Because I fell in love with this club. But to love this club is to do something for this club."
Of course, it is nonsense. Redfearn is not only a Leeds United employee, but a life-long fan who has often spoke about going to watch the game when he was younger.
In light of the remarkable comments from Cellino today, Leeds fans are understandably and rightly ticked off - expressing their views clearly on Twitter.
Among the vitriol, a picture of a young Redfearn with his father Brian, himself a former professional footballer, kitted up and ready to go watch his beloved Leeds in action.
The picture, which was posted by Leeds fan and The Square Ball writer Andy P, clearly proves how long Redfearn's love affair with Leeds United dates back.
However, it does not look like enough to save him his job.
