A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United…
Manchester United welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford this afternoon with Louis van Gaal’s side knowing they have secured Champions League football next season.
Liverpool’s defeat against Crystal Palace on Saturday means United are back in Europe’s elite with two matches to spare, but they will not want to end their last home game of the campaign with anything other than a victory.
In early team news, the BBC reports that neither Wayne Rooney nor Luke Shaw will feature for United this weekend.
Michael Carrick has already been ruled out for the rest of the campaign while defender Jonny Evans is a doubt.
There is better news with Angel Di Maria, Marcos Rojo and Robin van Persie all fit and available.
In other news, United manager Louis van Gaal has told club-record signing Di Maria that he needs to ‘change his behaviour’ in order to play his way back into a starting spot.
The Argentine has been used sparingly in recent times, usually as a second-half substitute, and in quotes published by Goal.com the Dutch manager said, “When you are open to coaching, then you can change but a change in behaviour is very difficult.
“Always, the old errors are coming back so a change of behaviour is not so easy so we have to wait and see.”
