United are set to face the Gunners for the second time at Old Trafford in three months; Arsenal notching a 2-1 FA Cup fifth round victory against their rivals back in March.
Arsene Wenger’s men are the only top six side to have achieved the feat of defeating United away this season, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Spurs in contrast receiving crushing defeats.
United aren't the only side to have been outdone by the Gunners in 2015, and van Gaal feels his side’s upcoming opponents are arguably the most talented in the league though with one critical fault.
“I think Arsenal maybe have a better team but they cannot finish off opponents like Chelsea. That is also about talent and experience like John Terry and Gary Cahill. That is the difference,” he explained.

Interestingly, as per the table provided by Opta Stats, the Gunners have claimed more points-per-match than Jose Mourinho’s side since their 2-1 loss to United back in November.
But the key area is how well the West Londoners have managed to defend, especially in the face of fellow title challengers, as they boast an undefeated run against their nearest rivals.
All three teams create a very similar amount of chances per Premier League encounter, but that ability to remain tight at the back and turn defeats into draws is the difference between first and second place.
While Paul Merson’s belief the Gunners need a complete new spine in his Sky Sports blog is a little drastic, a bit of steel certainly goes a long way and Wenger will need more of that this summer.
