Leeds United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on club owner Massimo Cellino's harsh comments about head coach Neil Redfearn.
In an interview with The Mirror, Cellino accused Redfearn of being “weak” and trying to turn the club’s fans against him. The Italian entrepreneur also claimed that the Englishman has not shown him enough respect.
It seems that the relationship between Cellino and Redfearn has broken down, and it would not be a surprise if the latter is not kept in the job.
Redfearn’s current contract as the Leeds head coach runs out in June, and no new deal is in place.
The West Yorkshire club’s fans want the 49-year-old to remain in charge of the first team next season, but it appears that Cellino is probably going to put someone else in charge.
Leeds supporters have made it clear what they think of Cellino on Twitter. Below are the best comments.
"Redfearn is weak and a baby" Cellino is mental and Redders loves Leeds longer than he has. He only knew the club when when he bought it..— Lewís (@LewisNelson123) May 17, 2015
Mr Cellino in a 70 minute presser chose not to insult Mr Redfearn, knowing be would be challenged by reasonable men.— Shaun @Dr.T (@DoctorT1992) May 17, 2015
Cellino's pathetic childish rants are getting more & more embarrassing. Redfearn has not turned the fans against him. He's done it on his own— viv charleston (@yoda_180) May 17, 2015
Cellino really needs to go. "He doesn't love Leeds as much as me" Redfearn's been here years and you've been disqualified from owning us!— Joe (@j4brennan) May 17, 2015
Need to get Cellino out as soon as possible before he does, permanent damage to the academy the worse important part of the club— Kirsty Stanley (@stanners_1982) May 17, 2015
