Ian Wright: Manchester United fans should be excited about Herrera

The Arsenal legend praised the United midfielder after Sunday's 1-1 draw.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright thinks Manchester United supporters should be 'very excited' about Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera.

The 25-year-old scored during United's 1-1 draw with the north London side on Sunday afternoon, capping what has been an encouraging debut season at Old Trafford.

And Wright singled Herrera out for praise on Twitter after the Premier League stalemate between both sides battling for third in the table.

Not only did the Manchester United midfielder score against Arsenal, of course, he impressed in a number of different areas at Old Trafford.

Ander Herrera 25 90
Juan Mata 22 90
Antonio Valencia 21 90
Marcos Rojo 16 73
Marouane Fellaini 15 90

Indeed, as Opta stats show, one of the Spaniard's many feats during the 1-1 draw was completing the most final-third passes for his side against the Gunners (25).

Compatriot Juan Mata was three behind, while Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini completed Manchester United's top five.

At 25 years of age, then, Herrera may well have a bright future at Old Trafford - as long as Louis van Gaal keeps him in the team!

United will finish their Premier League campaign against Hull City, while Arsenal are due to face Sunderland and West Brom.
