Tom Huddlestone v Nabil Bentaleb: Head to Head: Comparing the Hull and Spurs midfielders: 20150517

Hull City and Tottenham Hotspur went head-to-head on Saturday with Mauricio Pochettino’s men coming out 2-0 winners.

Goals from Nacer Chadli and Danny Rose ensured Spurs came away with all three points and left Hull needing a miracle of sorts to maintain their Premier League status for another season.

The match saw Hull players Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone come against their former side, and the latter had an intriguing midfield battle with Spurs youngster Nabil Bentaleb.

The Algeria international has featured 34 times for Tottenham this season while Huddlestone has turned out the exact same number of times for the Tigers.

Nabil Bentaleb 87% 10 1 4 2 2 0 5 90

On Saturday, it was the Hull player who came out on top when it came to passing accuracy, successful with 93 per cent of his efforts compared with Bentaleb’s 87 per cent.

The Tottenham player also lost possession on more occasions than his rival, who also won more tackles, more duels and made more effective clearances.

However, the Tottenham youngster did come out on top when it came to aerial battles, interceptions and ball recoveries.

Eight years Huddlestone’s junior, Bentaleb has plenty of time to work on his game, and while he was outshone in some key areas by the older player this weekend, it was Tottenham who came away with the victory.
