Former Manchester United star Phil Neville has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Liverpool’s defeat to Crystal Palace at home in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
In what was club captain and icon Steven Gerrard’s last-ever game at Anfield for the Reds, Brendan Rodgers’s side went down 3-1.
England international attacking midfielder Adam Lallana put Liverpool in the lead in the 26th minute, but Jason Puncheon equalised on the stroke of half time.
Wilfried Zaha and Glenn Murray scored in the second half for Palace to secure the visitors all three points.
Liverpool’s defeat means that they cannot make the top four of the Premier League this season, which in turn secures United a Champions League place.
Neville was following the match, and he was delighted with the final result.

Liverpool are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 62 points from 37 matches, six points behind United, who are fourth and have played a fewer game.
Louis van Gaal’s side are in action later today when they take on Arsenal at Old Trafford.
