Cole has been on the books of West Ham since 2006, but his current contract with the London outfit runs out in the summer.
With no new deal in place, one suspects that the Englishman will be released by the Hammers at the end of the season.
The 31-year-old has now taken to Twitter to reflect on his time at West Ham.

Cole has scored two goals and created seven chances in 22 Premier League appearances this season.
The former Chelsea striker has a pass accuracy of 56% and a shot accuracy of 50%, and he has won 50 headers, four dribbles and three tackles.
Last season Cole scored six goals and created eight chances in 26 league matches, while having a pass accuracy of 57% and a shot accuracy of 53%.
West Ham are currently 11th in the Premier League table with 47 points from 37 matches and could still finish in the top 10.
