The Arsenal boss was clearly pleased with the performance of his substitutes.
Arsenal were outplayed this evening when they took on Manchester United at Old Trafford. However, they managed to come away with a point from the fixture, much to the frustration of United fans.
The game certainly improved for Arsenal after the introduction of both Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere.
Indeed it was Walcott who forced the goal. His strike deflecting off of Tyler Blackett and looping over the head of substitute Manchester United goalie Victor Valdes.
The two have suffered with injury problems recently and are just now starting to get back to full fitness again.
After the game Arsene Wenger commented on the pair, clearly happy at the progress they have made in their respective recoveries.
He is quoted by the BBC as saying:
"Jack is now back to a better level. Theo as well. When they score goals that is a sign. We have a big squad and we are competitive. It was important to bounce back from defeat by Swansea and finish well."
Arsenal will of course be hoping that the two can maintain their fitness into the end of the season. Having both available for the FA Cup final later this month would of course be an absolute dream for Wenger.
After that the pair can maintain their fitness over the summer and hope for plenty more football next season.
