Arsenal legend Ian Wright has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Crystal Palace’s victory over Liverpool away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.
In what was club captain and icon Steven Gerrard’s last-ever game at Anfield for the Reds, Brendan Rodgers’s side went down 3-1.
England international attacking midfielder Adam Lallana put Liverpool in the lead in the 26th minute, but Jason Puncheon equalised for the visitors on the stroke of half time.
Wilfried Zaha and Glenn Murray scored in the second half for Palace to secure them all three points.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, Palace had just 34% of the possession, but the Eagles took 15 shots of which six were on target and earned five corners.
Interestingly, in spite of having 66% of the possession, hosts Liverpool could take 18 shots of which just three were on target and earned four corners.
Palace were the better side and deserved to win, and Wright was delighted to see his former club pick up all three points at Anfield.
Palace are now 12th in the Premier League table with 45 points from 37 matches and could still finish in the top 10.
