Cole took to Twitter before half-time, when Manchester United had taken the lead against the north London side thanks to an Ander Herrera opener.
But it was Young who impressed Cole against Arsenal, with the ex-United striker suggesting he 'terrorised' the Gunners' defence.
The 43-year-old declared his delight with his display on social media and also championed his case for an England call-up.
Ashley Young terrorising once again.. Surely time for an England call up again?!— Andrew Cole (@vancole9) May 17, 2015
England will be in action in June and Roy Hodgson will be selecting his Three Lions squad soon. There are probably few cases of a player in such form being overlooked quite like Young.
In a different position, Ryan Bertrand and Aaron Cresswell can certainly feel hard done by, although Young's exclusion is more of a surprise as he seems to fill Hodgson's invisible criteria of playing for a 'big' club in Manchester United.
His performance against Arsenal is definitely a timely one, though, and could do him a few favours with regards to any England call-up.
