Aaron Lennon sends message as his Everton loan spell comes to an end

Everton

The Tottenham Hotspur winger has clearly enjoyed his time at loan club Everton.

Some loan moves work better than others, and in the case of Aaron Lennon’s temporary switch from Tottenham Hotspur to Everton, things worked perfectly for the 28-year-old.

After 14 matches for the Toffees, Lennon took to Twitter to send a special message as his spell at Goodison Park came to an end.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the England international, after he was deemed surplus to requirements at Spurs for the second half of this campaign. But he remains a talented and effective player who will surely have plenty of suitors if he does leave North London permanently in the close-season.

Writing after Everton’s 2-1 win against West Ham United, Lennon said, “So happy to finish my loan on a win today. Loved every minute since I got here, gutted it’s over so soon.

“Also a special thank you to the fans for the great support for me since I got here; special club.”

With Everton’s last match of the campaign against Tottenham, Lennon’s season has ended early, with the winger ineligible to play against his parent club.

It will then be up to Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino to decide if Lennon still has a role to play at White Hart Lane or if he could potentially move back to Merseyside...but this time for good.
