It was as though West Ham United fans could predict Everton would beat them in the last minute at Upton Park - and it basically was as though Sam Allardyce had predicted Romelu Lukaku would score the winner in the build-up to the Premier League clash.
Big Sam had raved about the Everton striker all week - so why was he allowed to net so late in the game?
West Ham had bucked the trend with this one, actually taking the lead with a good goal during a competitive match. Allardyce's men still let things slip, however, and supporters appear to have had enough of the 60-year-old (although many of them already had months ago).
Now, many of them have delivered a common message to West Ham's owners on Twitter: that three wins in 20 Premier League games is just not good enough.
Indeed, the #AllardyceOut hashtag was all too common on social media both during and after the Hammers' Everton defeat. What looks like a large majority of supporters want the current West Ham manager gone ahead of next season. Will it happen? And who'll replace him if so?
The results man is delivering relegation results and people still question the fans that want him out! I completely understand them! #whufc— Miller ✌️ (@NicholasDMiller) May 16, 2015
The time has come for Allardyce to go. He's done a decent job but it's time for a change #whufc— Tom Burnett-Godfree (@tburnettgodfree) May 16, 2015
Will always be fond of Sam for getting us back to the Premier League and keeping us there. Rebuilt the squad. But his job is done now #whufc— Nathaniel John (@Nathaniel_John) May 16, 2015
Another fine result today. Sam has really made a solid case for getting rid of him in the last 20 or so games #whufc— Steve (@Steve__1895) May 16, 2015
