Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has explained his strange choice of hair colour in quotes published on the club’s official Twitter page.
The English defender dyed his hair red ahead of today’s Premier League game between Spurs and Hull City at White Hart Lane.
It was brave of him to sport such a flamboyant colour, but it seems the end result wasn't quite what he had in mind.
"My hair went wrong, it was meant to go purple,” Rose is quoted as saying on Tottenham’s official Twitter page. “I woke up this morning and it had turned red! Not a good start to the day!”
It is good to see that Rose still has a sense of humour at a stage of the season when Tottenham appear to be fizzling out.
Although Spurs returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 triumph over Hull at home, there is a feeling that this season has been a disappointment.
The North London outfit were expected to challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League, but they could miss out on Europe altogether.
Performances of Tottenham in recent weeks have also been inconsistent and disappointing, and perhaps Rose’s flamboyant hairstyle will help to cheer the fans up a bit.
