The Eagles clearly didn't read the script before they arrived on Merseyside!
This was supposed to be Steven Gerrard's Anfield send-off, meaning a last-minute winner or two would have been a great note for the Liverpool legend to go out on.
In the event, Crystal Palace didn't allow anything of the sort to happen, beating the Reds 3-1.
And Palace chairman Steve Parish was naturally delighted with his side's result. Interestingly, the south London club had been on a losing streak going into this one...
Of course, Parish also paid tribute to Liverpool captain Gerrard on Twitter - who couldn't on such a day?
Great tributes today to a great player https://t.co/u6zzhsjh6V— Steve Parish (@CEO4TAG) May 16, 2015
But the Crystal Palace chairman felt the limelight was stolen off Gerrard by the Eagles' 'best player' on the day in Jason Puncheon, with Parish posting a picture of the two of them in action.

Liverpool will no doubt want to forget all about Crystal Palace games after this season, having been beaten 3-1 by Parish's club both home and away.
Palace even managed to beat the Reds under Neil Warnock and showed no hesitation about repeating the feat under Alan Pardew.
