QPR fans urge key duo to stay next season after Newcastle win

QPR Mascot And Fans

Leroy Fer and Matt Phillips both scored against Newcastle United - both have been urged to stay by Queens Park Rangers supporters on Twitter.

There has been so very little to celebrate during QPR's dire Premier League season. Relegation straight back down to the Championship being confirmed with two games to spare was no one's ideal scenario at Loftus Road.

Funnily enough, the R's were playing a side in a similar situation in Newcastle. The Magpies faithful have had absolutely nothing to celebrate this season.

But, amid all the gloom, QPR actually managed a win, beating Newcastle 2-1 thanks to goals from Matt Phillips and Leroy Fer. And the duo have represented some of the very little the R's fans have had to celebrate this term.

Indeed, along with top scorer Charlie Austin, the duo have provided glimpses of quality otherwise unheard of at Loftus and they did it again v Newcastle.

In response, some QPR fans have reacted the only logical way they could on Twitter - by urging the key duo to remain in west London next season.

With relegation confirmed, QPR could fall victim to their top talent disbanding and joining other clubs. After the Newcastle win, though, R's supporters were keen to urge their side to hold on to Phillips and Fer - if they can:
