Phil Neville - Everton

Former Manchester United and Everton star Phil Neville is surprised at the way the Aston Villa collapsed against Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League.

Former Manchester United and Everton star Phil Neville has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Aston Villa’s crushing defeat to Southampton away from home this afternoon.

Villa headed into the Premier League encounter at St. Mary’s Stadium with confidence, but they remain in serious danger of going down to the Championship.

Tim Sherwood’s side conceded no fewer than six goals over the course of the 90 minutes to suffer a 6-1 defeat to the Saints.

The Villans were out of the game inside 16 minutes, when Senegal international winger Sadio Mane scored a hat-trick.

Neville was following the match, and he made the following post on Twitter during the half-time interval.

The Villa defence were truly awful this afternoon, and it remains to be seen how the players recover from this humiliating defeat.

Sherwood’s side are currently 14th in the Premier League table with 38 points from 37 matches, just four points above the relegation zone.
