Report: Franco Baldini to hold talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, decision to be made on future

Baldini is expected to leave Tottenham this summer, after the appointment of Paul Mitchell.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Franco Baldini will hold talks with Daniel Levy at the end of the season, although his exit from Spurs is still expected.

The Italian technical director has come under much criticism in the last few months due to his poor work in the transfer market for Tottenham, and his role has been under threat since the appointment of Paul Mitchell earlier this season.

Mitchell, who worked with head coach Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton, has been brought to the club to revamp their scouting network and guarantee the Lilywhites do not complete any more transfer mistakes.

Baldini has been sidelined at the club since Mitchell’s appointment in November, and the report states he is set to talk with chairman Levy in the coming weeks to address his future, although it is expected he will leave the club this summer.

Baldwin arrived at White hart Lane in 2013, and oversaw the transfer window in which Gareth Bale left to Real Madrid. He was in charge of signing the likes of Roberto Soldado, Erikl Lamela and Vlad Chiriches, but only Nacer Chadli and Christian Eriksen have put in performances worthy of their price tags.

It was this failure of Baldini which has seen his future come under threat, and it would be no surprise to see him depart North London this summer.
