Pellegrini says Aguero is one of the world's best players and won't be sold

The Manchester City boss thinks the Argentinian has improved this season.

Manuel Pellegrini had made it clear that he thinks Manchester City can resist offers from Real Madrid and Barcelona for main man Sergio Aguero, according to BBC quotes, claiming the former Atletico star is content at the Etihad.

Speaking in the club's press conference ahead of their game trip to Swansea on Sunday, the under pressure manager revealed that the club will never be under pressure to relinquish their top players.

"We are not a selling team," said the Chilean, as quoted by the BBC. "Sergio is very happy here."

The former Villarreal boss questioned how the Manchester City striker was not included in the PFA Team of the season, despite scoring five goals more than any other player in the division.

Agüero has 25 goals to his name and 31 overall for the season, including an outstanding 8 in his last 5 matches - his best ever campaign for the Citizens.

"I don't know the way they choose the PFA team, so I cannot talk about that," asserted Pellegrini. "All I can say is that Kun must be in every best team."

"When Sergio was coming back from his injury - he took some games to return to his top performance but I always say he is one of the top five players in the world.

"He's improved a lot this season and I think he will continue to improve."

With City's finances, it is likely they can resist any move the likes of Real Madrid might make for their star man, but if they end another season empty handed, the 26-year-old could well reconsider his future.
