Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson has predicted on Skysports.com that Hull City will win Saturday’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
Hull are currently struggling for survival in the Premier League and are the visitors for the game, but Merson believes that the Tigers will pick up all three points in North London.
“I think Hull will beat Tottenham away,” the 47-year-old wrote on Skysports.com. “I just think Tottenham have fallen off a cliff lately and I wonder whether they really want to get in the Europa League next season.
“I also think that Hull’s three at the back system will work better against Tottenham away than it would at home for them, plus there is less pressure on them away from home and they also they know they have to go out and win the game.”
Could Paul Merson’s prediction come true?
Both Tottenham and Hull are struggling for form and for points at the moment, but it is the latter who have to win Saturday’s match.
The two will head into the encounter on the back of defeats. While Spurs went down 3-0 to Stoke City away from home at the Britannia Stadium last weekend, the Tigers suffered a 1-0 loss to Burnley at the KC Stadium.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have lost their last two league matches and are without a win in three, and they will certainly want to pick up all three points from their final home match.
Tottenham have a much better squad, but their recent performances suggest that the Tigers do have a chance of winning a Premier League match in May for the first time.
