Michael Owen has highlighted in his Betvictor.com column a worrying stat for Hull City which will encourage Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham will host Hull at White Hart Lane in North London in the Premier League on Saturday.
Both the sides will head into the encounter on the back of defeats. While Spurs went down 3-0 to Stoke City away from home at the Britannia Stadium last weekend, the Tigers suffered a 1-0 loss to Burnley at the KC Stadium.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s match, former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Owen has pointed out a startling stat about Hull which plays in Tottenham’s favour.
“Harry Kane has only scored once in his last six PL games and Spurs have failed to score in their last two; you have to go back to November 2013 for the last time they went without a goal in three successive games,” the former England international wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Hull have still never won a PL game in the month of May and will be playing Championship football if they don’t buck that trend over the next couple of weeks.”
The fact that Hull have never won a Premier League match in the month of May will be hugely worrying for the Tigers fans, but it will be equally encouraging for the Spurs supporters.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have lost their last two league matches and are without a win in three, and they will certainly want to pick up all three points from their final home game of the season.
It will not be easy to win against Steve Bruce’s team, though, as they are struggling for survival in the Premier League and will give their all on Saturday.
Tottenham have a much better squad, but their recent performances suggest that the Tigers do have a good chance of finally winning a Premier League match in May.
