If footballers were superheroes: featuring Liverpool, Tottenham stars

Defence - Spurs v Chelsea

We take a look at some footballing superheroes, including Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham stars.

Today is Superhero Day, and we take a look at some footballers are super in their own right.

Footballers often get compared with superheroes, but here are a few who have taken off those shackles, and become all out heroes in their own right.

Batman and Robin van Persie

Sidekick to his more illustrious teammate, van Persie just can’t overcome Wayne Rooney, like Robin was always behind Batman. Might be able to overcome his issues by leaving his club and going on alone.

Batman And Robin

Captain Liverpool

Like Captain America representing the USA in all he does, Gerrard has come to represent Merseyside in all it’s glory. Universally loved by everyone, Cap looks like someone from another time, and possess a heavy hitting shot, like Gerrard’s famous long range drive.

Captain Liverpool

Keane Hulk

The bruiser who can’t control himself when he gets angry, Hulk lets his more illustrious teammates do the technical work around him. Getting in needless battles and unable to restrain himself, Hulk is the ultimate bruiser.

SuperKane

Everybody’s hero. The man who can do no wrong. The unassuming looking boy who breaks from his shell when required and stuns the world. Kane has followed Superman’s path this season, and it doesn’t look like stopping.

RoonThing

Like the Hulk, the Thing is another bruiser, who gets in fight to help his teammates, but he also has a softer side to him. Possessing an incredible strength and a bald head, you can never doubt a victory when the Thing is on your side.
