Bournemouth plan to sign free agent Artur Boruc

St Marys Southampton

HITC Sport understands Bournemouth are poised to secure the signing of Southampton goalkeeper Artur Boruc on a permanent deal.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Bournemouth are set to turn Southampton goalkeeper Artur Boruc's loan move into a permanent deal this summer.

Boruc made a significant impact at Bournemouth upon his arrival in September, helping the Cherries to win the Championship title and promotion to the Premier League.

The Poland international established himself as No.1 keeper at Bournemouth and made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Dean Court outfit.

Boruc is out of contract this summer and has been told he has no future at St Mary’s by Saints boss Ronald Koeman.

The 35-year-old former Celtic and Fiorentina keeper found himself out of favour at Southampton following the arrival of Fraser Forster last summer and despite the long-term injury to the England international, Koeman has decided to let Boruc leave.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is busy looking to build his squad ahead of their first campaign in the Premier League and he sees Boruc's experience as crucial for his plans for next season.
